I'm not sure whether this has been tried yet When I upgraded to X4.0.2, I did lose the cursor (it was moving but invisible). Turned out the xserver was not upgraded, so it was still using the xserver-svga 3.3.6, instead of using xserver-xfree86. Once that was installed, cursor came back. Andre

I use the XF86Setup program. I found that when I told it I had a PS2, my mouse would stop working in the setup program. Use the default "Microsoft" mouse and you should be good to go. (But answer the rest of the questions or nothing else will work for you ) Good Luck
