telnet utiliza sólo un puerto. De todas formas, date cuena que, si
no mal recuerdo, al hacer telnet hacia el router te suele contestar

FYI I solved it, and the solution was the same as that of the fellow in the
ssh weirdness thread. The problem was an ISP DNS issue. Namely, a
reverse lookup on my IP yielded a plausible name, but a forward lookup on
that name got nothing. This was causing the hosts.deny file to stop telnet

I just set up a new machine and for some infernal reason I can't ssh or
telnet to it. Here are the details:
-- both machines have static IPs, proper DNS entries, and are up to date
with latest Debian potato ssh and telnetd
-- new-machine is a fresh vanilla install, running the stock

Since apache works perfectly, I stopped it and tried moving telnet to port
80. Still no connection. ssh didn't work over port 80, either, so I know
it's not a firewall problem.
After scouring the net, I read that sometimes having ipv6 enabled in the
kernel

Ok, now that we've all got a nice windows ssh, how about DOS.
I need an SSH client (or else a telnet client) that works from DOS on a
286. I'm currently using NCSA telnet, but it has some trouble the
keymap.

Oui, j'ai avais le meme problem. C'est un bug dans le deb. A
/etc/inetd.conf changes le user.group est
je n'arrive pas à faire un telnet sur un équipement privé.Voici les
résultats de nmap:
-sans options le port 23 est filtré
-avec TCP SYN ou FIN SCAN le port est ouvert
-avec ACK le port est unfiltered
-et avec WINDOW SCAN le port est fermé
quelqu'un a-t-il une idée ?

is a newer version than the one you sent me but thanks anyway!) and i love
it! all the things i wanted are there, works great and: 200 Kb (no typo!)
Good stuff comes in small packages..
