They're built-in. they come in a sounds directory in
I'm talking about the actual wav files. The mechanism to play sounds
works fine. When I hit "Test" with the default sound, there's
nothing, but when I replace "(default)" with a wav file, it plays.

My gaim uses esd. Do you have that properly configure
