That's not a good idea, since it grants everyone stumbling thorugh
your system access.
An "adduser audio" is the better solution.

I can't get sound; KDE, for example, complains that /dev/dsp can't be
opened because the device or resource is busy.
I've tried lsof, but no one seems to be using it. How do I find what
has grabbed /dev/dsp (symlink to /dev/dsp0)?
Or is something else entirely the problem? lsmod seems to show my
