Hallo
I am a real beginner. I have successfully, I hope,
installed debian, just the base installation nothing more. I am getting the two
pormpts as user and root and the commands work etc. But I cant start X windows,
I have trided startx but only to get a message that the command is

hi. if you installed just the base system, then you will need the
x-window-system package - apt-get it.

ii x-window-syste 4.3.0-5X Window System core components
thats what you'll need to startx.
