Hello, I did apt-get install apcupsd on my Debian Woody box and made appropriate changes to the apcupsd.conf file. The program starts fine, I see apcmain, apcnis, apcser running, and I can do apcaccess status so I am communicating with the UPS. But when I unplug power .... NO warning messages are displayed on my desktop and there are no messages in either /var/log/messages or /var/log/apcupsd.events. I have the proper cable shipped directly from APC (940-0128A)
What am I doing wrong? ## apcupsd.conf v1.1 ## UPSCABLE 940-0128A UPSTYPE backups DEVICE /dev/ttyS0 LOCKFILE /var/lock MINUTES 3 TIMEOUT 0 ANNOY 300 ANNOYDELAY 5 NOLOGON disable KILLDELAY 0 NETSERVER on NISPORT 6543 EVENTSFILE /var/log/apcupsd.events STATTIME 0 STATFILE /var/log/apcupsd.status LOGSTATS off DATATIME 0 UPSNAME UPS_IDEN UPSCLASS standalone UPSMODE disable NETACCESS true steelhead:/etc/apcupsd# apcaccess status DATE : Sun Dec 15 11:30:24 AKST 2002 HOSTNAME : steelhead RELEASE : 3.8.5 UPSNAME : UPS_IDEN CABLE : APC Cable 940-0128A MODEL : BackUPS UPSMODE : Stand Alone STARTTIME: Sun Dec 15 11:12:35 AKST 2002 LINEFAIL : OK BATTSTAT : OK STATFLAG : 0x008 Status Flag END APC : Sun Dec 15 11:30:24 AKST 2002 steelhead:/etc/apcupsd# -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
