I would remount the filesystem readonly and do a fsck, or boot
with a boot disk/cd and run a fsck on the fileystem. the exact
command will depend on the filesystem your using

I cannot upgrade libasound2 because it is trying to overwrite a file
called /usr/share/alsa/cards/ICH.conf. When I try to remove the file as
root, I get this:
rm: cannot lstat `/usr/share/alsa/cards/ICH.conf': Permission denied
When I try to ls the directory as root, I get this:
