Recently I've got a problem on a server... after editing menu.lst the machine boots, but running an apt-get upgrade that got a new kernel image, i lost all my edition... '/' was at /dev/sda2, but the upgrade changed it to /dev/sda1, which is the swap partition. Upgrading to grub2 correct this

Trouble configuring GRUB to dual boot Win2k

The problem is win2k is on third ide disk. hd0 is 160gig ide with debian hd1 is DVD-RW hd2 is 60gig ide with Win2k on hdc1 mdk 9.0 hdc6. hd3 is CD-RW I've put together the following Grub statments from reading Grub Docs and tried them in menu.lst but it didn't work... Can anyone
