I'm trying to make diald work with a dsl connection. I've seen that diald with a ppp modem connection works fine (even with that SIOCSIFMETRIC: warning- see below) as well as the dsl connection alone (using 'pon dsl-provider' to start it). But substituting 'dsl-provider' into /etc/diad/diald.provider all I get is and endless stream of 'no device free to call' as in the extract below from /var/log/message. kernel: CSLIP: code copyright 1989 Regents of the University of California kernel: SLIP: version 0.8.4-NET3.019-NEWTTY-MODULAR (dynamic channels, max=256). kernel: SLIP linefill/keepalive option. diald[538]: start sl0: SIOCSIFMETRIC: Operation not supported /etc/hotplug/net.agent: invoke ifup sl0 diald[538]: Trigger: udp 192.168.0.1/32770 212.216.112.112/53 diald[538]: Calling site 192.168.0.2 diald[538]: No devices free to call out on. diald[538]: Connect script failed. diald[538]: Delaying 1 seconds before clear to dial. diald[538]: Calling site 192.168.0.2 diald[538]: No devices free to call out on. ........................................ ........................................
