gdm slight differences

When in a console I log in as user the file ~/.bashrc -tailored to add ~/bin to the path directory - is executed. Booting the PC up with gdm and logging as user it looks as though ~/.bashrc isn't executed because under Gnome terminal I can't use any script in ~/bin unless I issue the command
