I'm trying to install and enable SSL on my Woody (2.4.17) without luck.
I've tried a few times now, and everytime the following error occurs... I
installed OpenSSL wich went fine, thinking that would help, but didn't.
OK, I will try to do that in the future. Thanks for answering anyway!

If you want, you can just download the package and do a dpkg -i
/ testing/non-US main contrib
non-free
Looking at non-us, I think you want to lose the debian-non-US/ there.
That's correct for FTP, but not for HTTP. (Don't you love virtual
hosting?)
kdebase-crypto is in testing, for those who were speculating earlier,
but only if you're running powerpc or sparc
main contrib
non-free
deb http://non-us.debian.org/ testing/non-US main contrib non-free
# apt-get update
# apt-get install kdebase-crypto
E: Package kdebase-crypto has no installation candidate
so, either i'm an idiot (high probability) or this package just doesn't
exist

E: Package kdebase-crypto has no installation
kdebase-crypto IS in non-free. I have it installed from that particular
apt line, except I use unstable (actually, I had some problems with
non-US some time back so also added ftp.debian.nl, but that shouldn't
matter too much as they're the same computer). Perhaps you just caught a
weird setup

hrm . . . E: Package kdebase-crypto has no installation candidate using:
deb http
/debian-non-US/ testing/non-US main contrib
non-free
all on one line. then:
apt-get update
apt-get install kdebase-crypto
and . . .
Package kdebase-crypto has no available version, but exists in the
database.
This typically means that the package was mentioned in a dependency and
never uploaded
