It is hard to find Debian pre-installed. I know Dell will not sell certain
hardware configurations with Linux (Red Hat only). VALinux sells their own
version based on Red Hat.
Doesn't VALinux sell their machines with Debian on them?

They did a year or more ago but not anymore. They went to Red Hat only and
then to their own RPM based distro.
Why are they still advertising Debian on their site, then?

I'm in a desperate need of assistence. I just a got my new computer
and I'm trying to install Debian 2.0 on it (to be upgraded to potato after
initial install). The problem is that it won't boot during the installation

In the coming weeks I am aquiring two hitachi laptops, both with built
in cdroms, 1.0gig hds and 1 is a 100mhz pentium, and the other is a
120mhz. I don't have details of thier models yet but will let you know
asap. What I am looking for is, 1. what modem would be best to use, 2.
what network card
