There are two steps: If you are user pann (I'm sure you're not, but I am), as root, adduser pann dip Also as root chown root.dip /etc/chatscripts/ The first step is a normal procedure, the second is owing to a bug in earlier versions of the ppp package for hamm, which is now fixed.
