To recap:
This is on a new ThinkPad running Debian Lenny/Sid amd64.
I have two problems:
- the original random keystrokes ignored on console
dbus seems to deserve the blame for this.
- a udevsleep delay on startup of 20 seconds
This seems to be a udev problem that has been seen
