Hello all, Now that I'm using Debian 1.2.x I'm having a problem that never showed up in Debian 1.1.x -- rpc portmapper dies very very frequently, and I have to reboot the system since I cannot connect to any host and cannot open any new window...
"rpcinfo -p" says: "rpcinfo: can't contact portmapper: RPC: Remote system error - Bad address" and trying to umount non-busy file systems shows the message: "Cannot MOUNTPROG RPC: RPC: Port mapper failure - RPC: Unable to send" I was told this kind of message belonged to libc (I was using libc5_5.4.20-1). Now I downgraded libc to 5.4.13-1. I tried both versions of netbase that appeared in the "stable" tree (2.06-1 and 2.09-1) and the various versions of netstd (from 2.08-1 to 2.12-1). And the problem still stays on.... Does anybody have an idea why this is happening?? Did anybody have this problem anytime before??
