Hi, I have an old machine that I installed testing on to. It is not a particularly high spec machine, so rather than put gnome on it as I normally do I decided to give WindowMaker a try, and very nice it is too. I loaded it up and was able to run WM from startx and was very happy with the result.
I rebooted the machine and up came the xdm login screen. I logged in and was denied access. I tried to log in as root and got in just fine. I tried to log in at the tty screen and got in no problem, went back to xdm and was refused. I did ctrl-alt-bkspc and tried again, no changed. I did ctrl-alt-bkspce again and xdm died and I could get in with startx. This problem repeats each time I reboot and xdm is started. What is likly to be wrong here? Is it a symptom of something else I should be looking at? Keith. -- _________________________________________ Keith O'Connell. Maidstone, Kent.
