>From what I understand, you don't have a proper dns setup. Check out
>/etc/resolv.conf.
resolv.conf:
search domain.com
nameserver your_primary_dns_server_IP
nameserver your_secondary_dns_server_IP

Or, are you trying to install debian using a boot floppy and ftp?
