Seems like the -rpath issues are now fixed in sid - I do not get the
lintian warning anymore, and mowgli is configured as "system" in the
./configure output.
I have also made some progress with the package, making it ready for

I have done history-breaking rebases in the git repository to cleanup
the master branch, which is now "sid" (regular unstable uploads),
instead of "experimental" (which is now a separate branch, as bpo).
