Jedit is a text editor written in java. You will find that jedit's strength is in its wide variety of plugins that extend its functionality. There are currently many plugins available (>50) that provide functions such as class wizards, debuggers, and even a simple irc client. Jedit is usefull for programmers in many different languages, not just java. Jedit has syntax highlighting for @ 70 different languages. Jedit is a valuable addition to any programmer's toolset.
