Hello, I agree with intrigeri although I'm not convinced that renaming mat2 to mat might not confuse some users; but to be honest, I don't know much about the Debian ecosystem, nor do I care about pernickety taxonomy issues, so do I trust his judgment on this.
About the nautilus extension, the required version of nautilus-python (1.2.0) isn't currently packaged in Debian, so I guess this is a blocker. I've opened an issue on mat2's bucktracker[1] to track the status of the package in Debian. I'm also thrilled to see that some people have starting to play[2] with packaging mat2 for Fedora!
