Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

The lm-sensors people upstream maintain two packages: i2c, which is a
general kernel module for communicating with the I^2C bus, and
lm-sensors, a package for reading hardware sensor data off of that
bus. Both of these packages are in Debian, formerly maintained by
Joey Hess; I've adopted lm-sensors, but not i2c (yet).

I was hoping to not adopt i2c, but it seems like nobody else has
picked it up, and also that the relevant wnpp bug has vanished from
the BTS. And the most recent version of lm-sensors depends on the
most recent version of i2c.

So, in the absence of anybody else desparately wanting another kernel
module package to maintain, I'm going to start working on i2c, and get
i2c-2.6.0 uploaded in the next day or two.
