I have been in contact with upstream, which stated that the project is dead, with minimal activity and no planned releases. I was planning on packaging this myself (the previous ITP was over a year old), but I don't see the point, so I'm also closing this bug. I should mention upstream was very responsive and welcoming, and offered to let me take over development. Anyone willing to package this should also be willing to take up upstream duties.
