Smolt actually doesn't work very will in counting users in a "compare
Debian to Fedora to Mandrake" thing. We're only seeing a 10-15% uptake
rate. Its more there to get a large enough sample to determine what
machines to test for QA and development. The ratings system and
hardware Errata will be handy too (currently being worked on)
When a user submits a profile they will get a response with something
like "Please see SMOLT-53239 for information on configuring your nvidia
card" The ultimate goal to fix the hardware, but in the meantime give
details on how to install their hardware properly (that part will be
wiki based). You will, of course, be able to just look at debian
profiles in the near future. We're going to build a reporting tool that
allows direct access to the db so you could say "show me all debian
users with this nvidia card who are having problems"
