So far I removed the news.wml and the .diff file, applied your
patches for glibc2.1 and sys_types, and corrected the link
to the axp-list's archives. Don't really know what to do with
the rest of your comments for links.wml yet.

the ports/alpha tree is quite old, with lots of outdated information.
It should be updated. I corrected some problems in the attached diff
files.
