ensures that the software is correctly packaged and available as

packages.
We use Debian GNU/Linux as our computing platform because we know it
well and
know that it is incredibly configurable and reliable. Further, the fact
that
Debian GNU/Linux is the basis of the Ubuntu distribution makes our software
projects widely available with no extra effort.
