BTW, the patched xserver-xfree86 s3virge support will only work for the virge/gx2 chip. If you don't have the gx2, but do have an s3 chip, I recommend not getting my binaries,but instead just not getting the s3virge/gx2 patch. Cheers. -- ** Derek J Witt

I also had the same problem (with xfs not being installed...I had it installed in the 3.x X windows) which resulted in X freezing on startup...I've been GUIless since the woody 4.x rollout. I'm now installing the font server. Just wanted to acclaim that Jelmer is NOT the only one. Btw, there are

My inbox has literally exploded with bugs since I released 4.0.1. Perhaps 100 or more have been filed. The bugs are coming in faster than I can do triage on them. I am literally overwhelmed. I would appreciate it if those on this list could do what they can as described on the X Strike Force
