I've been using gxvattr to change the HUE values on-the-fly and could be
able to fix it, is there any configuration one can change in Totem so it
doesn't behave like this?. (besides downgrading :P)

I found that opengl apllications like tuxracer or gl-117 are slow and unusable
meanwhile I found no problem associated with driver's module
in the XFree86.log. drm is enabled and agp accelaration too
