when i attempt to run startx, the screen goes black, and eventually X
fails to start. downgrading to xserver-xorg-video-vesa 1:1.3.0-4 works fine.
this is running in virtualbox-ose (1.6.2-dfsg-1~bpo40+1) from backports.org.

Hi,
I installed libgl1-mesa-dri 7.0.3-4, but this did not fix the problem.
I also installed libgl1-mesa-dri-dbg, but this made things worse -- my whole
machine freezes now instead of just xmoto crashing(I ran "gdb xmoto").
Maybe I could still ssh to it, but I dont have another computer at home
