and have marked the packages as arch any. Can't you use libglide3-dev
instead which is available on i386 alpha ia64 amd64?

same problem here with an ATI Radeon X1300, freshly dist-upgraded
lenny (xorg 7.3). Asked on debian-user with no luck.
Everything is fine with kernel 2.6.18 from etch, black screen with
kernek >= 2.6.22. With later kernels, both the vesa and the radeonhd
