There is a bug fix out for Fedora that
fixes what looks like a similar issue for
V2.99.917-9 (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1226531).
Apparently DRI3 (which was enabled on 917-2) was disabled in
917-9. It would be nice to have a later version available
in Debian to test
The problem has all but disappeared for me as of version
2.2.15.0-3 of this package.
For the most part, the problem occurs in gnome-terminal with
random artifacts (greyish shadows) on a small patch of the screen, at
other times it looks like one line of text is overwriting the other one.
Sometimes this occurs when typing in text in the browser (iceweasel).

This error has occurred a few times recently, .xsession-errors shows
BadName (named color or font does not exist). For gnome-terminal
the font is the system fixed font. If xfs is disabled the X server
starts up normally as do nautilus,

Whether I include 'Option AccelMethod EXA or not, XAA always gets
selected.
In the instance where EXA is specifically requested XAA is initialized and
later the
message appears:

I have the Volari XP5 video controller and running lenny, starting X,
screen goes black. If I add 1280x768 to the 'Modes' in SubSection
'Display' of 'Screen', I get a 'skinny' screen (lots of black on the
left and right margins). Unusable.
