looked in the xorg.conf man page, which says that the config snippets
should end in .conf. Renaming to 10-synaptics.conf, and it works.

I have problems with both the Synaptics touchpad and the trackpoint of
my Thinkpad T60 after upgrading to X.org 7.5. The mouse pointer is stuck
at the centre of the screen. It reacts to movements but is invariably
moved back to the centre after a little while, so it's unusable.

My X.org log is now over 3 MB and counting because of these messages. I
don't know why the connection sometimes succeeds and sometimes not.

Are you sure this is an ATI problem? I just got exactly the same problem with
my Thinkpad R60 that uses an Intel graphics adapter. However I also update my

I seem to have the same problem with my Radeon XPRESS 200M (PCI ID 1002:5a42)
on an LG LE50 Express laptop whenever DRI is not disabled in xorg.conf -
except that the screen is garbled instead of blank. Power button or SysRq-B
is needed to reboot.
This is with kernel 2.6.23-rc3 and

Yes, that did help! The monitor went on after giving the xrandr --mode
command. It now also detects the other modes:
~$ xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1024 x 768, maximum 2048 x 768
VGA-0 connected

Yes, that helps, but why is it enabling S-video in the first place? I don't

LE50 Express laptop (Radeon Xpress 200M), but cannot seem to configure
it with xrandr:
