Ok, I looked at it more, and it was my fault -- somehow I had the
version of xserver-xorg-video-r128 from experimental installed (the
rest of xorg is from unstable), and that was screwing up dependencies.
BTW, although it's in experimental, that version (6.8.1-5+exp2) of
xserver-xorg-video-r128

This is with my motherboard's builtin Radeon HD 3200 GPU,
Apparently Xorg 1.7.5 hit unstable today, and I upgraded, and the first

75 DPI is really off for me.
As XFree86 4.x doesn't support my video card adequately, I'm using
debians 3.x xserver-mach64 package.
