savage and XF4.3.0

2003-04-24 Thread csj
I have onboard savage video (ECS K7VMM+ with VIA ProSavageDDR KM266 and crappy VIA audio) and a full installation of Daniel's experimental XFree86 4.3 packages. I'm having a small problem with what I suspect is the xserver-xfree86 package. I can't use any resolution but 640x480. If I try

os-support/linux/drm/kernel/ not getting built

2003-03-02 Thread csj
I have the impression that the files found in build-tree/xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/os-support/linux/drm/kernel/ is not getting built. Where do I get the kernel component of the stuff needed to get 3D working in my Radeon VE (radeon.o)? The one that comes with the kernel appears not to work.

Driver features

Aside from the man and readme pages in the xserver-xfree86 package, is there any other documentation WRT the features each driver supports. I'm looking for a video card that has native support for both xvideo and 3D acceleration (i.e. they are supported without having to download some 3rd-party

Is the 4.2 .orig.tar.gz final?

2002-06-18 Thread csj
Is the file: http://people.debian.org/~branden/sid/source/xfree86_4.2.0.orig.tar.gz the same one that would make it to testing? Would all subsequent changes to the Debian source be made to the .diff.gz? I would like to test 4.2 but I'm on a dialup connection. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to
