I was mistaken earlier. The specific issue I am seeing is libxft1 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14sarge1 has Depends: xfree86-common, libc6 (>= 2.3.2.ds1-21), libexpat1 (>= 1.95.8), libfontconfig1 (>= 2.3.0), libfreetype6 (>= 2.1.5-1), libxext6 | xlibs (>> 4.1.0), libxrender1 when it should have: Depends: xfre
