My ~/.xsessionrc has:
xset dpms 0 0 0
With a regular X11 session, this works, but in an xrdp+xorgxrdp session,
it fails because the server lacks DPMS support. But then, once having

modetest and proptest to disable DPMS. Neither reported a problem but
the DPMS value remained unchanged.

My xorg.conf is set up to have dpms enabled on one screen (:0.1 -- I'm
using zaphod mode, so :0.0 is a separate screen to :0.1), but disable

Sorry, I could not reply before, this seems to fix the problem at least for
my system. The only weird thing I saw was that the server is coming up with
a resolution bigger than the one on the laptop's screen, I solved this by

Any news on this bug? - It is really annoying me, my monitor gets older
several times faster and the work around is of no help (mplayer (a movie
player) does not use it)... Do other movie player not temporary disable
DPMS!?

Right now I am using the nvidia driver, so the xorg.conf file attached

About a year ago, you reported a bug to the Debian BTS regarding DPMS
not working with xlock and some noise being displayed. Did you reproduce
this problem recently? With Xorg/Etch? With latest xserver-xorg-core and
drivers? If not, I will close this bug in the next weeks.

XFree86 server crashing when forcing DPMS to suspend with the vesa
driver on a ATI board. Did you reproduce this problem recently? With
Xorg/Etch? If not, I will close this bug in the next weeks.
