SyncBack is incredible. Spend the $15 for the registered "SE"
version. It has a much better ftp engine, among other things, or so
the authors say. In the last week or so I've switched over all of my
online synching to it.

I've adapted it already to my needs. :-)
Instead of Zipping it with a tool I've choosen to save all archieved
logfiles in a compressed NTFS folder.
Now the logfiles should also be copied to a remote FTP-Server and so it must
be zip

I would suggest getting winzip with the command line add-on. Then you can
write a batch file or script to do it.
