I have understood that in derby doesn't support offset in sql.
However in hibernate with derby this is possible using
Query.setFirstRow(int row). What it actually to do that?
Can derby split log files to several files after previous log file is too
large like derby.log derby.log.1 derby.log.2
or is it possible to use log4j in derby?

Maybe easiest way is use big int type in duration field and store duration
time in milliseconds
