I removed the gstreamer files and replaced with xine files.
I added DMA support for my dvd player.
The Totem player works normally now.
The Totem player still will not work using the g-streamer back end.

The screensaver came up, I had to enter my password, then the desktop
came back up and irssi was still running in a terminal. For as far as I
can tell, the sleep action worked perfectly.
