The compose file in Breezy (probably Dapper) contains "incompatible" (???)
compose sequences for polytonic letters that have diacritical marks. Those
"incompatible" compose sequences do not produce any characters, so as is, it is
not possible to produce daseia, psili and poss
I verify that this bug exists.
What happens is that Xorg is able to send the mentioned characters, however,
somewhere in both GTK+ and QT applications cannot receive them.
To verify, run an X application such as "xterm" (is there an old-style X editor
around?).

Update - sorry about the flip-flopping here, but I just succeeded in getting my
Canon PIXMA ip-4000 working in Dapper using Turboprint 1.94-2. I set the
printer up in the Turboprint config utility and then used the CUPS web
interface to adjust the settings to be the same both places.
It prints
For Chinese, it is GBK.

Even with both interfaces reporting the same settings, glabels printing, and
gedit printing, and probably any gxxx printing has too large a top margin.
This testing was done using a Samsung ML-1750 laser printer set for US Letter
and 1200x600dpi printi

I confirm that.
Tests, I made, shown that kdeprint don't use ~/.cups/lpotions.
I don't know yet where kdeprint store the user configuration, but
gnome-cups-manager show the enblem of the user default printer assigned by
kdeprint, and do not care about ~/.cups/lpotions.
