When I log into Gnome, I get the splash screen, but, it quits after only 2
seconds, lng before the desktop is actually loaded, so you can't actually

As requested, here are ifconfig and iwconfig run from within dapper.
I've noticed that this has been triaged at a low priority... if the
final version of edgy had this problem, then there would be a few people
who simply couldn't use it. I deleted knot 1 because I couldn't update
anything etc... m

machine. When GParted runs as part of the installation it gets stuck
waiting for disks. I looked at the log and it seems that its trying to

I have Dapper Drake on a partition and recently install Knot 2 on
another partition. The two installations share the same /home directory
(partition).
On the desktop and in Places I see duplicated entries :

meantime. I have removed debian-menu (along with the menu package), but this

On a related note, I've set via the mixer preferences to track and
control Front instead of PCM. Now, the tray applet correctly changes
Front instead of PCM. However, the laptop's volume hotkeys still change
PCM. This behavior is very inconsistent and looks to me like a bug.

making a small ext3 partition (hda5) + a small vfat (hda7), using the

Installing gstreamer0.10-plugins-base-dbg was no problem, of course.
But I'm not 100% sure if I got the debug build of totem right...
gdb started fine but after the crash it said it could not get any registers...

Why is moving the tab instead of using arrows better? Gaim is not a
GNOME project, and it seems to me that firefox's behavior is more
desirable. Plus, we allow other things that gedit doesn't, notably,
dragging a tab out of a window (vrs having to use the menu option to do
it).

This attachment show an effect that's not systematic. It looks like
sometimes there's a ghost border that remains atop all normal visible
windows. Then when a window (e.g. the snapshot application's window) is
moved, blue colors overwrites part of it.
This effect is different from the typical case

Buttons in Ubuntu have an orange glow around them on mouse-over. Close
tab buttons don't, but Gaim's close tab buttons do. This causes the tab
to stretch vertically to make room for the orange glow, and cuts off the
side of the close button's icon. I am in 2.0.0beta3.
