libbeagle is needed to compile and run. So it depends on libbeagle, as
libbeagle has the needed functions to determine if the beagle daemon is
running etc. I belive this patch automatically detects if beagle is
running and hides the search feature when no daemon is present.

In my case, Ubuntu 6.06 with all updates, I had been doing a re-install and
first noticed that the VNC remote connection was automatically changed to
"localhost:0", withought an option to change it. I then proceded to going to
Administration\Login Window to enable and attempt remote connection

It seems that you're right, but it is apache2 that is up/downloading. The bug
ceased to show up after killing apache2 (which is run as root).
Maybe this version of the bug is caused by changing the owner of /var/www to
myself, what I had done to ease the management for myself. I found out that
