Ok, I've just removed gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3 and gstreamer0.10
-fluendo-mpegdemux just for testing. Playing mp3 and/or a shutcast
stream seems to require about half amount of CPU than before removing
those packages, however I think ithis CPU usage (about 6-8%) remains too
high (on a 1.7GHz P4
uploaded -0ubuntu2.3 with those changes now

I would like to add my complaint about this. Having one control adjust one
volume and the fn keys and built in vol keys another is very confusing as to

Well, top only reports cpu usage in the exact moment of measurement or
at least something very similar to this... i.e. you could even get 100%
cpu usage by a app that is sleeping most of the time.
A better way would be something like gkrellm's cpu usage graph or just
the cpu time of the progress

Thanks for your bug. Do you use totem-gstreamer or totem-xine? Are you
playing a file or does it do that even without opening anything? Do you
use a sidebar? What window manager do you use? What locale do you use?
I've no such problem on my feisty installation

Yeah, sorry. Thank you. I have only another question: I have a
Pentium4 3200Mhz and I want to install a 686-smp kernel. I found that
the package linux-686-smp is obsolated from linux-generic. This means
that the linux-generic kernel is a 686-smp
No reply, bug closed. Feel free to reopen if you still get the issue and
can get a debug backtrace as asked before

If you run evolution from a command line do you have any warning printed
on it when you get that sort of problem. What does the status bar is
writting when that happens? What sort of account do you use? If that's a
network one (imap by example), do you have a reliable network? Evolution
might be

you delete the file? Can you user write to it? Are you sure you don't
use the option to bypass the trash by default?

Thank you for your bug. Does switching to a VT with ctrl-alt-Fn works
when it's hanging? Do you have anything to /var/log/messages or
/var/log/syslog about that? A system hang is not a nautilus bug
(whatever an app is doing the system should be robust), likely a linux
or an xorg one
