It doesn't work because the command is run within a gdm session.
It causes one of those two things :
1- The xterm is closed, as the script, and gdm just doesn't start
2- xterm makes X stays open while gdm is down, and gdm cannot start a new X
session.
One easy workaround is to start the command

Certain types of media files are not recognised as being media in
nautilus; as can be seen when thumbnailing fails and you just get a
blank-page icon. Some I've noticed:
Matroska audio, with .mka extension
Matroska video, with .mkv exte
I can confirm a very similar problem however this was in Edgy and the
printer being used was a HP Deskjet 940C.
The problem was that by using: System -> Administration -> Printing
menu to go in and change the printer properties, in this case default
print type from normal to normal grayscale woul

This happen very randomly when I log out and the log in. I think maybe
is a bug with the gnome-panel, since it happen during the load of the
panel. Anyway, here is my bug info

Move it to gnome-session. On VT switch it doesn't redraw the background
and you see whatever is in the framebuffer. gksu, screensaver have the
