I analysed the problem first and notice that I have to use Gaim 2.0.0
beta 6 from repository.debuntu.org instead of Feisty Fawn version to
create the bug. When using Feisty, the only problem is that the file is

Since a very recent update (last week or so,) evince will no longer
render postscript files. It seems to recognise the number of pages in
the file, but each just shows "Loading" for ever.
I think the problem is probably in ghostscript, but evince doesn't

Ok I went on a bit of a goose-chase just to eliminate as many sources of
confusion as possible. The wacom thing appears to be irrelevant to this
problem. As far as I can figure out, the wacom input drivers are in
xorg.conf by default simply so that X on a tablet works nicely out of

Yes. I stack two panels across the top of the screen as per attachment
(panels are transparent).
I have tried various tests to try and identify the cause from a user
perspective. Removing applets in various combinations, etc.
When I stack both at the bottom of the screen I see similar results.
Yes it happens when I use Beryl, but not all the time. But if I have
one, she stay until next reboot.

totem plays flac files.
mplayer plays all music files correctly.
also the preview function of sound files in nautilus works ok with ogg-
files. flac files not.
I changed totem-xine to totem-gstreamer and now totem plays also ogg files. But
not cds. And rhythmbox plays nothing.

transparent window is a gnome-control-center feature used when a
composite manager is running. Maybe there is problem with the function
doing that choice. Does
I can't find gnome-panel-dbg searching through apt but did find the

gnome-panel-screenshot sessions in gdb, in order to attempt to reproduce the
crash, I switched my window from the gdb terminal to other graphics window i.e.
evolution. I mean:

manager. It seems that changing my locale to "C" fixes the problem.
