Another thing I just noticed is that Alt-F2 does not work.
Also, I cannot resize the window of an application. The minimize button
on the top right corner of an application also disappeared. In other
words, I cannot minimize an application.

I also tried logging in using Failsafe GNOME mode and everything seems
to work fine. The top and bottom panels appears as normal.
However, if I log in using normal GNOME mode, the top and bottom panels
still disappear when I open an application.

I discovered that the panels only disappear when beryl-manager is set to start
up in System>Preferences>Sessions. However, it doesn't matter what
window-manager is set to be used.
