I had a problem similar to this and turned out to be a permissions
issue. Something to do with the external display. Try running Totem
with sudo and see if the problem goes away. Ex. # sudo totem
(filename).

Nautilus (gnome-vfs2 apps eg eog picasa also) disconnects ncpfs shares on

Using gthumb does not disconnect the shares.
Disconnection is sometime intermittent but always after one or more file

Ntfs-3g problem 1 and 2 are fixed in newer releases. The other problems
are unrelated to ntfs-3g and Ubuntu nautilus problems are indeed
reported by many people to ntfs-3g upstream. Please note that I/O errors
are perfectly valid if there are storage problems, e.g. bad sectors,
detached devices.
Apply to if you have timezone set to Europe/Moscow it just won't start
after fresh install. There is bug in org-gnome-evolution-startup-
wizard.eplug just change it to other timezone compete wizard and back to
Europe/Moscow. This works for me

remote Ubuntu machine (2.6.20-15-generic #2 SMP Sun Apr 15 07:36:31 UTC
2007 i686 GNU/Linux) from a Mac running OS X 10.4.9. The keyboard
mapping is fine when logging in to GDM, but scrambles as soon as Gnome
itself is launched.
Just changing the security type has no effect. The workaround is far
