This is still happening in gutsy beta. Trying to resize the window
basically darkens the current window and the application performance
drags down. and the behavior continues for all other windows. Restarting
X brings the machine back to normal state. I've compiz enabled with XGL.

I was trying to install Ubuntu on a friend's laptop.
Off of the live cd, both Feisty and Gutsy Beta work just fine. Once I
installed either, though, after restarting it a couple times, this error
would pop up.
Laptop is a Sony Vaio VGN-S260. I received similar results to Alex
Muntada.

I'm running gutsy beta with updates. I had the same problem with gutsy tribe 5.
First i was running feisty, then i've made a clean install of gusty tribe 5

changing login windows
I've just recently upgraded to Gutsy, thus i'm running Gnome 2.20.
I still get the "what do you want to do" dialog when Brasero or Serpentine is
already running.
Could someone perhaps explain what ther fix in 2.19.5 means? I'd be
happy to look into it.

Ok, system needs two recognized sound cards. I assume that in all options the
external is the default.
Under System - Preferences - Sound it is possible to choose a Device. I choose
the internal one and mixer PCM (for keyboard volume change). A standard user
would think that's it, now internal s

the issue if you try the same actions in your user directory?

This bug seems to have stalled a bit.
Could someone from Gnome perhaps throw up a ball concerning comment 58? Seems
like a sane thing to do.
I know everyone has an opinion about this, and i think it doesn't really
matter what solution is chosen, as long as one gets chosen :)

originally had a ~/.gnome2/eog file. just because you said eog
directory, i created a ~/.gnome2/eog/ directory and that seems to have
fixed the problem. it wasn't a permissions problem, it was because eog
was a file, not a directory. creating the directory seems to work. i'll
let you know if there
