Today i attempt to capture the network comm of nautilus with tcpdump. I'm wondering that it does not even make a dns lookup while trying to open a ftp://... url. I could see no network communication. Other protocols like smb://... are working on the same system. Is ftp in nautilus 2.18.1 completely

I have the same problems. My locales are properly set in my box and /etc/init.d/mountall.sh is fine, and fstab explicitly include locale option. However, I cannot see files with accents, etc. in my external hard disk with ntfs partition; but if I manually mount the partition (with locale option)
