I had the same problem and I solved it by adding my hostname to 127.0.0.1 in
/etc/hosts, as mentioned above.
Now it loads in less than ~10sec.

I still can't get a logfile. The last time that Nautilus has freezed I
had handled mp3-files again. The system monitor showed Nautilus still
running continiously with 83% CPU and 381 MB memory. That's enormous,
usually it uses about 10 MB.
After shutting down and restarting Nautilus everything
Confirmed here also. I mistakenly deleted menu icon of TvTime program. I
reinstalled the program, but main menu didn't display it, even though
the .desktop file was there.
As a matter of fact, I think this bug is at least one year old. I
remember I had similar problems in Breezy.

I was just about to file a bug about this; here is what I would've written:
When given the choice to give a folder emblems users are presented an
unorganized and jumbled list. Instead, each item should be vertically aligned.
This can possibly be accomplished by having all items centered above
For me it reports the permissions as unknown, and doesn't allow me to
change them (even though I'm looking at files owned by my current user)

I think the importance of this bug should be at least medium, because this
feature is critical for who relies on calendar alerts all day, and this bug is
really annoying...
However, I have discovered (at least on Ubuntu Gutsy - Gnome 2.20.1), where the
problem is, I think.
