Windows partitions don't get desktop icons, and the desktop theme looks
rather old-fashioned.

Same issue for me in 2.20.0 under Ubuntu 7.10.
It can only find the file IF I happened to be AT the file folder in which the
file is contained. For example, it cannot find a file on the desktop when the
home folder is selected for search. It can only find the file when I set the
start point to
I had feisty installed on my HP Pavillion Laptop, and migrated to
Gutsy, everything worked o.k., then Gutsy completely crashed and I had
to reinstall from scratch after formatting my partition, (I duel boot).
Now it takes a loong time to boot, 3-4 minutes at least, muuuch
slower at any rate.
Oh yeah and I forgot to mention that of course all these tests were done
~empirically (cold boot, one thing changed at a time). The second "34

Holy COW! That guy nailed it! As much as I *love* network manager, I
never *suspected* it at all.
Here are my benchmarks on my desktop computer. It uses a DHCP wired network
interface.

login to fully loaded*: 51.07 seconds
Sorry, but the fix didn't work for me. I tried removing network-manager

about a month back, so unfortunately I no longer have Yelp, Firefox,

Just to give one last detail, in case it is relevant: I first noticed
and posted the bug after doing the automatic update from Ubuntu Feisty
Adding the pdfborderstyle={/S/U/W 0} to the hyperref package when
producing a pdf suppresses all visual clues as to the existence of
hyperlinks in the document. A strange idea to me : you create a pdf with
hyperlinks yet there is nothing that tells the user that some part of
the text is a link unti

Looks like it maybe related to Bug #148003.
IMHO, it's a race between udev and cryptsetup (libdevmapper).
I "fixed" it by removing /etc/udev/rules.d/65-dmsetup.rules.
This file seems to have been introduced by a recent Ubuntu patch.
Presumably there was a good reason for it, but it causes havoc

I tried to attach the songs with problems, but it seems they are too
long to send by mail. It mostly appears with mixes from Djs... These are
mostly large files for example: 70 mb to 100 mb.

when I expand several folders and sub-folders by clicking on the arrows or
using the keyboard (shift+left, shift+right) and leave one
same behavior here too.

Situation:
The user changes her theme to a non-standard one installed by downloading an
archive file and installing it with GNOME's appearance properties application.

Applications launched by the user via. a "sudo" or "gksu" command do not
